I am writing to you from Tucson, Arizona. I am Mary Sullivan Kneeland's husband. I was in the class of '62 SHS and knew
Bob Schlick. I used to get my hair cuts from him, and followed him when he covered vacations for other barbers,
even going so far as Mapleton and Reedsport to get my haircuts because he did such a great job.
His dad was a barber on 13th Street at the University of Oregon near the U of O Bookstore, but about a half-block West on the
South side of the street. I believe that Bob may have worked there at one time also.
I saw the article about Bob in the Sunday, Arizona Daily Star in the Parade Supplement on page 18, entitled
"Our Towns" -- A Barber Bounces Back, Portland, Oregon. Our Parade edition was dated May 23, 2010.
Our Parade issue had Homer Simpson on the front, you know the guy from Springfield, with a picture of him barbecuing a "hot dog",
and the caption says, "Mmm... Barbecue!".
Hope this is of some help.
